What better way to kick off the summer than the 33rd Annual Cambridge River Festival! On Saturday June 2nd from 12:00 to 6:00pm head down to the banks of the Charles River for a fun filled festival that is sure to have something that appeals to everyone in your family! This free event is unlike any other festival in the area featuring an array of musical performers in a range of genres including folk, world, jazz, blues, and gospel. In addition there will be interactive dance, theatre, and storytelling. There is no shortage of food at this event with an assortment of specialty foods and treats that’ll fulfill any desire. Free Family Concert: Tunes, Tales and Tricksters

New Playground at Franklin Park Zoo to open this summer!

Visitors of Boston’s historic Franklin Park Zoo will soon have another attraction to visit in the 72-acres that make up the zoo. Construction has begun on a new innovative 10,000 sq. foot playground that is set to open by late June/early July. The new addition, made possible by the Play 2 Dream Foundation, puts safety first and will be created on a rubberized surface making it accessible for children of all abilities. Complete with an animal themed playground it will be built next to Butterfly Landing and is set to include a variety of slides and climbers, cognitive interactive play panels, swings, as well as shaded areas and benches and picnic tables for families.
