April School Vacation Activities in Greater Boston

April School Vacation Week is here for the kids of Boston and Massachusetts. Take a look at some of the neat activities we’ve pulled together to help you plan your week.

Who doesn’t love the zoo? Check out special vacation week activities at both the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and the Stone Zoo in Stoneham.

Looking to get your family’s spring off to a great start? Throughout April school vacation week, connect with incredible wildlife and spend a memorable day with family and friends exploring Franklin Park Zoo. Zoo New England’s ZooTeens will lead fun and educational activities daily from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Aussie Aviary opens for the season during April school vacation week. Stroll among hundreds of brightly colored budgies in this engaging, interactive space. Purchase a seedstick and the birds may land right on it! Hours (weather permitting):
Visit Stone Zoo during April school vacation week and learn more about all of the incredible animals that call the Zoo home, from snow leopards, jaguar, cougars (including Blue, the cougar kitten, pictured right) and Mexican gray wolves to the arctic foxes, lynxes, bald eagles and many others. Throughout the week, there will be zookeeper encounters, a scavenger hunt and more. At daily zookeeper encounters, visitors will have the opportunity to meet with the zookeepers and ask questions about the animals.

Blue Man Group is an experience for the senses! Grab the family and head into Boston for a performance. Local restaurants have kids eat free specials and the Revere Hotel, right around hte corner from the theater, has a special discount.

Never laugh on an empty stomach. We can help the family fill their bellies at two of our favorite spots in the neighborhood. For an Asian-Inspired meal visit our friends at PF Chang’s. PF Chang’s has a delicious kids menu that is sure to please even the pickiest little diners. Their extensive menu also features Gluten Free options for both big kids and little kids. If you’re looking for the standard Kid Classics, then MJ O’Connor’s tasty pub fare is your best bet. The kids can nosh on Grilled Cheese, Mac & Cheese, Mini Burgers . . . all their favorites!

There is tons of cool programming for your sports fan at The Hall at Patriot Place including autograph sessions, a quarterback clinic, and a free science event.
