MIX 104.1’s annual MIXFest concert returns to Boston on September, 17th with an all-star line-up of artists. Billboard Music Award winning band, Lifehouse will be headlining MIXFest 2011, announced today during the Morning Show with Karson & Kennedy. Other special guests include; Grammy Award winning artist Michelle Branch, season-one winner of The Voice, Javier Colon, wildly successful band, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, as well as other surprise acts.
For the first time in MIXFest history, festivities will take place for free at the DCR Memorial Hatch Shell along the Charles River. In an effort to show appreciation for its listeners and the Boston community, MIX 104.1 and CBS Radio Boston have opened up this year’s show for all to enjoy. “MIXFest began 18 years ago as a free event on Boston Common. By bringing this year’s event to the DCR Hatch Shell, we are returning MIXFest to its roots as a free, outdoor festival that we produce in an effort to say thank you to all of our loyal MIX 104.1 listeners in the Boston community,” says Mark Hannon, Senior Vice President/Market Manager of CBS Radio Boston.
MIXFest will kick off at 2 p.m. rain or shine at the DCR Memorial Hatch Shell. In addition to the live music performances, MIXFest will also feature a kids-area, complete with face painting, activities and special children’s bands.
