The White Mountains of New Hampshire is truly a four-season tourist destination – whether you enjoy relaxing, skiing, leaf peeping, or visiting family-friendly attractions.

Each summer, my family enjoys visiting a variety of attractions in the White Mountains, and our favorites are Santa’s Village and Storyland.

Storyland – Glen, NH

Storyland is the perfect attraction for families with young kids, because it’s wonderful for little kids, and isn’t overwhelming at all.  You can generally see most of the park within one day, and if you arrive within three hours of closing, you’ll get another day free!  We like to go at about 3 or 4 on one day, and then get a whole other day in too!

This year, Storyland is also offering character dinners on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6pm-7:30pm in July and August.

Santa’s Village – Jefferson, New Hampshire

Last weekend, we visiting the Mountain View Grand hotel in Whitefield, NH, which is much closer to Santa’s Village than Storyland.  So, we decided to give Santa’s Village a try (I’d been there a bunch of times as a kid and once when my kids were smaller – but not lately).

It took a little convincing to get my kids to agree, but they were on board when they heard about the reindeer (one pictured here).  They loved celebrating Christmas in June, and even had the chance to see Santa.  The park is small and unassuming, but still had lots of rides the kids loved.

Disclosure: The Mountain View Grand provided us with an expense-paid trip at the resort.
