The sights and sounds of the circus come alive this spring as Boston Children’s Museum celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Big Apple Circus in Boston with an art exhibition called The Art of Big Apple Circus, featuring 25 years of circus poster art. The exhibition will open on April 1, 2010, and will run through April 18, 2010.
Complementing the poster art work, the exhibition also includes circus props, music and a cutout photo opportunity to become Bello the Clown.
Bello Is Back! The Big Apple Circus is back in town with Bello Nock, named America’s “Best Clown” by Time magazine and the world’s most exciting circus artists under the Big Top! The playfully elegant Bello with his gravity-defying hair returns to the Big Apple Circus after an absence of nine seasons. With thrilling feats of derring-do and stylish sense of whimsy, Bello will astound and delight one and all! On the “Welcome Bello Back” committee is Big Apple Circus’ own lovable star Grandma and spectacular performers from around the world.
This year marks the 32nd season of the Big Apple Circus and the 25th consecutive year Boston Children’s Museum has partnered with the BAC to bring the magic, fun and surprises of this internationally renowned, European-style one-ring circus to the children and families of Greater Boston.
“We are delighted to have a long-standing partnership with Boston Children’s Museum,” said Gary Dunning, Big Apple Circus Executive Director. “We share a similar goal of bringing families together while invigorating the communities we serve with the joy of circus through a wide range of programs and performances.”
A box office for the Big Apple Circus is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-3pm at Boston Children’s Museum.
